The story

One stormy night, the whole house floats away.

When a wild storm snaps the stilts under their little beach house and floats it out to sea, Tunie and her six-year-old sister, Runie, are suddenly adrift, with two small dogs, a box of crackers, and no land in sight.

Then a hungry seagull named Fred lands on the porch railing. A carved chest turns up in the attic. And a secret room under the roof holds a map no one in the family has ever seen.

“Here’s the plan. We’re going to make this house go.”
